Friday Update: 22 September 2023
Editorial
I believe it was Home Simpson who said “Never volunteer for anything” and after a few weeks sorting out the finances of a charity I now realise what wise words these were. Too little time left for an update last week means we have a bumper edition this week, with 17 readers finds. Many thanks to all those who sent them in and for your patience. One of the finds is the story of a quite remarkable job of cleaning an “awful” looking coin.
We also have auction news, including the sale of the Ryedale Bowl, which was found this year.
