Editorial
All detectorists dream of that big find; a gold coin, a hoard or an important historical artefact. This week we have all three. The hoard hammered silver coins is the 5th hoard that detectorist Justin Bell has found. The Ryedale bowl is an almost intact Anglo-Saxon hanging bowl that is expected to fetch in excess of £20,000 in Timeline’s auction. And in Readers Finds, we have a gold sovereign of George III.
In PAS Finds is something much more humble. It’s a copper farthing token. The man who issued it went to prison for his beliefs. These beliefs were to improve workplace conditions for many.
