Penny of Charles II
This coin measures only 13mm in diameter but is shown greatly enlarged. The finder, John Garner, asked for further details.
The coin is a hammered silver penny of Charles II. It has inner circles and mint mark crown on both sides, so it was struck during the third hammered coinage.
This isn’t a rarity but silver pennies of Charles II are far scarcer than those of Charles I. I’d say that the latter outnumber the former by about twenty to one.  Â
Valuation
The reverse has been struck off centre but the coin would still grade about Fine so my valuation figure would be £15.
