Noonans sell Burradon ring and other finds
On 12 September 2023, Noonans held an auction of “Jewellery, Watches and Pbjects of Vertu”. It included several recent detecting finds, including the Burradon ring, which was found in 2021.

Featured lot
This late 13th/early 14th century gold and sapphire set stirrup ring was found in Burradon, Northumberland in 2021. It was recorded at the PAS as NCL-ACC8FB and later disclaimed as Treasure.
Other detecting finds
Roman gold filigree ring
A 4th century gold finger ring found at Hambleton, North Yorkshire in 2022 and recorded at the PAS as YORYM-B6A9F2. It is comparable to rings from the Thetford Hoard and possibly from the same workshop.

Medieval gold, diamond and amethyst ring
A late 13th/early 14th century gold ring, found on 21 August 2021 near Hayton, East Yorkshire. Recorded at the PAS as YORYM-2018CC and disclaimed as Treasure. The auctioneer says “The ring, with its arrangement of collets, is similar to a type of pewter pilgrim badge dating to the 14th-15th century, representing the five wounds of Christ.”

17th century enamel and rock crystal ring
Found on 10 September 2022 near Selbourne, Hampshire and recorded at the PAS as SUR-ED1CD5. It has been compared to a ring from the Cheapside hoard, found in London in 1912.

Found near Wendlebury, Oxfordshire in 2019. The inscription reads “RATHER.DEATHE.THEN.FALSE.OF.FAVTHE”.
