Friday Update: 15 March 2024
Editorial
Detectorist Roy Davis was going through his finds from nearly 40 years ago when he decided to give one a bit of a clean. That revealed a Royal crest and the inscription “King Charles”. That silver vervel of Charles I fetched £7,000 at auction this week. Continuing the Charles I theme, a silver medallion of him and his wife was declared Treasure this week. The local council paid tribute to how detectorists and museums work together to the benefit of their communities.
Some gold amongst the 15 Readers Finds including a Noble of Henry V and a gold quarter stater of the Catuvellauni.
