Friday Update: 14 October 2022
Editorial
Some of us are still searching for that elusive gold coin after many years of detecting. Imagine finding 266 of them in your own kitchen. A couple from North Yorkshire did that and they were sold by Spink last Friday for £754,000. The hoard included quite a few guineas of William III and as it happens our Find of the Week is also a guinea of William III. There are ten more readers finds including a sceatta of Aethelred of Mercia and gold stater of the Corieltauvi. Plus have a look at the reverse of the Elizabeth I shilling to see what you think of the mint mark.
Issue 2 of the AMDS Times is out and if you are a member you may well already have your copy. AMDS kindly gave us permission to put a copy on our website so that detectorists who are currently non-members could enjoy it.
