Friday Update: 7 October 2022
Editorial
Those of you who have read the last few Friday Updates will have noticed the number of good finds that Roger Paul has had recently. His luck continued this week with a quarter stater. He is now getting concerned as how he will feel when his run comes to an end. We’re on a mini run ourselves with a quarter noble of Edward III being the Find of the Week for the second week in a row.
This week we also have an article on how to store your coins with some anecdotes of how it can all go horribly wrong. In the news, an important gold bracteate is going on public display partly thanks to a local detecting club and a reliquary pendant is declared Treasure.
In PAS finds there’s an intricate gold handle for a pointer (aestel) with a connection to the Alfred Jewel.
