Friday Update: 20 January 2023
Editorial
The blind loyalty of the 500 knights who followed the lead of the appropriately named “John the Blind” into battle is to be marvelled at. It’s good to see one of his coins this week in Readers Finds.
Things are starting to get going again after Christmas and we have some Treasure and auction news this week. A great quote from one of the detectorists who found some Treasure: “The buzz when you find something unique is great“. And in auction news, Noonans are selling quite a few recent detecting finds including a coin that links the two Queen Elizabeths.
In PAS finds we have an Arendsdaalder, well a third of one to be precise. Cutting a coin into half or quarters with a cross on it as a guide required some skill, cutting a coin into thirds with no helping lines is a different level.
