Friday Update: 13 January 2023
Editorial
Somebody’s proposed petition to parliament was rejected this week. It read “I propose designate areas for metal detecting across the UK, permitted areas will change after a period to ensure there are metal targets under the soil. All metal detectorists will need a government issued license, NCMD insurance and must take rubbish they find to dispose of appropriately.” I suspect the government might have enough else to think about at the moment.
We’ve three more readers’ coins come in this week. It’s been a bit quiet for the last couple of weeks with finds coming in and so if you do have something of interest, please do send it in.
In PAS finds there is a Roman “Wirral” brooch, which was found in an unusual place.
