Wow – we were very excited this week to receive images of our most valuable single coin that one of our readers has found; not only is it a gold coin but it is extremely rare and of great historical significance.

In other news, Noonans upcoming auction includes several recent finds including 73 coins from the Colkirk Hoard and in PAS Finds we have an unusual pilgrim badge.

Reader finds rare gold shilling of Eadbald of kent

The coin pictured here was unearthed by Sean Peebles on the 26th of November. It’s the most valuable coin that has been sent in by a reader.

Noonans to sell Colkirk Hoard and other rare finds

Noonans have a large number of recent detecting finds in their auction on 5 December 2023 including 73 coins from the Colkirk Hoard which was found a couple of years ago.
