Late Medieval Key
This item came in from John Lashmar, who wondered if it would be of any value.
John’s find is a late medieval copper-alloy key, which will be circa 14th century in date. The bow (the loop at the end) is broken but the bit (the element that turned the mechanism inside a lock) looks to be complete. It measures 75mm long and the rough surfaces are typical of something that had been in the soil for hundreds of years.

Valuation
This key is an interesting find but not a particularly rare one so in its present condition my price range would be no higher than £12-15.
