Elizabeth I sixth issue sixpence

Steve Hurst asked for a valuation of this coin, which he described as being Elizabethan and 25mm in diameter.

The coin is an Elizabeth I sixth issue sixpence, which has mint mark woolpack on both sides and is dated 1595 above the shield of arms on the reverse. In the Standard Catalogue the type is listed as number 2578B.

Valuation

On the obverse there is a flat area beneath Queen Elizabeth’s chin and the edge is a bit irregular but this side is otherwise in about VF condition. The reverse would grade almost VF. In its present condition and provided that it hasn’t been cleaned, a collector should be willing to pay £120-150 in order to acquire it.
