In December 2021 we were the first to publish the story of the Hazelbury Civil War Hoard which had been found by one of our readers, Steve Simmons. That story made the national papers in the last couple of weeks as the hoard of 14 gold coins came to auction last week. The auction went very well and the hoard exceeded expectations. Congratulations to Steven.

Six more readers finds this week including two rare shillings. In PAS finds we have the story of the cartwheel penny, which may appear to have been an unpopular mistake but was a significant step forward in coin manufacturing by a far sighted entrepreneur, Matthew Boulton.
