Farthing of Edward I

This tiny hammered silver coin was unearthed on the 2nd of April by Martin Depear. I was asked to provide a full ID and a valuation.

The find of a farthing of Edward I, which measures only 12mm in diameter but is shown greatly enlarged. On the obverse the legend reads E R ANGL DN and on the reverse CIVI TAS LON DON. The coin was struck at London, it belongs to class 9b and it is listed in the Standard Catalogue as number 1449A.

Valuation

This farthing is in Fine condition and is one of the rarer types, so my price range would be £35 to £40.
