Friday Update – 18 June 2021
Editorial
A slight delay to this week’s update. Paul, who helps with the admin of the website, suffered quite a nasty cycling accident last week – now on the mend.
Six new identifications including a rare Quarter Stater and an unusual Anglo-Saxon sceatta. The PAS review, recorded 330 finds this week, including a several Finds of Note. This is twice as many as recent weeks which hopefully indicates that more of you have been able to get out detecting. Remember to send in any interesting finds or stories.
In the news, the Treasure Registrars report that two more detecting finds have been donated to local museums by the detectorists that found them. The detecting community should be proud that they continue to contribute so much to the understanding of local history. Hopefully, having these items on public display will inspire future generations.
