Friday Update: 17 February 2023
Editorial
It has been a week of very small coins in readers’ finds this week, with the most notable being a Northumbrian silver sceatta. We’ve two more good news stories this week of detecting finds going on public display. It’s great to see the work of detectorists in connecting people with their local history being acknowledged in both cases.
In PAS finds we have a 20th century seal from a cement bag. Not particularly exciting you might think, but the story behind the seal involves medieval imagery and a 17th century gift from the Russian ambassador.
