Friday Update: 16 September 2022
Editorial
If the number of finds coming into the website is a guide then detectorists are increasingly able to get back in the fields after the long dry summer. And they’ve certainly struck gold with two staters and a quarter noble coming in this week. Amongst the other seven finds is an Elizabeth I coin in exceptional condition and a cut quarter penny with a lot of history associated with it.
We’ve the results from two auctions which indicate that the market for both coins and artefacts is still strong.
In PAS finds is the story of how Ferdinand II and Isabella made the real an international currency.
