Friday Update: 23 June 2023
Editorial
It’s always interesting to follow a find that we’ve featured before. In this case a “Nationally Important” Viking die stamp is up for auction next month at Noonans. It didn’t qualify as Treasure under the current definition but could well be the sort of find that would be Treasure under the new Significance test that is due to come in.
Six more readers finds include a nice groat of Philip and Mary. In PAS Finds there’s a gold moidore from Brazil, which circulated as currency in this country and had a link to the introduction of the gold standard by Sir Isaac Newton.
