Friday Update: 12 August 2022
Editorial
Curiously we’ve got a few bent coins this week. They may all have been bent for different reasons. The unusual pendant formed from a St Edmund memorial penny neatly illustrates the Vikings transition from being pagan killers of a saintly king to wanting to advertise their conversion to Christianity.
Andrew Thompson sent in his S-shaped quarter guinea and in PAS finds is a really unusual William III sixpence shaped into a triangle, or is it a heart?
Mike Ruczynski sent in an Anglo-Saxon pyramidal mount which he found some 25 years ago. Not as rare as they used to be but still a great find.
