Harness pendant of the Bishops of Winchester
A quatrefoil Medieval harness pendant dating to around the 14th Century. The arms depict a sword crossed with a key upon a plain cross. The crossed sword and key are the symbols of St Peter and St Paul as seen on the arms of Bishops of Winchester. This suggests an attribution to a cleric or member of the Bishop’s household.
Medieval strap fitting
A Â copper alloy anthropomorphic strap fitting or mount dating to around 1100. The PAS record suggests that although the size and fittings are reminiscent of Anglo Saxon shoe-shaped stud, the style is more in keeping with later Anglo-Scandinavian depictions of the human face.
