We’ve one of those good news stories that we like to feature on this website: an important detecting find which has gone on public display, thanks to a team effort of detectorists and other experts.

We also have a preview of Noonans auction next month which has a lot of detecting finds, quite a few of them of some significance.

In Readers finds are some really nice examples of hammered silver plus a warning that all that glitters isn’t gold, certainly not all the way through. Plus in PAS finds we have a jester’s head.

Roman hoard goes on display in Suffolk

A hoard of Roman pewter vessels was found by detectorist Martin White in 2022. It has now gone on display at a local museum thanks to a team effort.

Rare Roman and Viking finds in Noonans July sale

Lots of detecting finds in Noonans July auction of British Iron Age Coins, Ancient Coins And Antiquities including this gold aureus of Claudius, which was issued to commemorate his father 50 years after his death.
