A real belter of a coin came in this week: a almost unique denarius of Carausius. A recent detecting find, I’d had it as my Featured Find in the PAS Finds review a couple of weeks ago and so it was a real pleasure when a reader got in touch to say that it was his find.
In Auction News, Spink are selling part of the Horace Hird collection. This contains rare British gold coins some of which are considered the best examples of their type.
In PAS finds is an Anglo-Saxon shield boss disc which has a styling that is unparalleled.
