In the ongoing NCMD dispute, the “Four Regions” have launched their own website, to provide information on themselves and the background to the dispute.

Every detectorist will dream about unearthing a hammered gold coin; my Find of the Week is a James I gold unite. Amongst the 10 other readers’ finds is a penny of Stephen and several Roman coins. It was good to have several new contributors send in their finds.

In PAS finds is a possibly unique silver penny of Eadberht Præn, king of Kent.

NCMD Dispute

The “Four Regions” have launched their own website to set out in some detail the background to the dispute.

Amongst other information, you may be interested in how it was proposed to spend a bequest of £15,000.

James I, unite

When this coin surfaced it was twisted out-of-shape. The finder had it straightened by someone skilled in remedial work and it is now flat.

A penny of Stephen, during whose reign there was conflict between his supporters and those who believed that the Empress Matilda should be the ruler of England

A silver penny of Eadberht Præn, king of Kent, a badge of a Edward III noble and Sutton Hoo style mount
