Friday Update – 13 August 2021
Editorial
A busy week with 11 finds sent into the website. It’s great to have quite a few new contributors. Some really interesting items including an Edward IV quarter ryal and an Edward III noble, which has been restored after being unearthed with a few bends. Also, is a George III half guinea, which has caused some debate in detecting forums as to whether it is a forgery.
In the news this week are three reports of finds being declared Treasure. One of these is a hoard of Medieval silver coins which the detectorist finder has donated to his local museum.
In the PAS review, there is a first for the PAS: a penny of Edward, Count of Bar. Also, why has a penny of John been tightly wound shortly after it was issued.
