Friday Update: 1 July 2022

Editorial

When you have a detecting career that started as a schoolboy and spans several decades it must come as quite a wrench when you decide to part with your collection. A Hertfordshire detectorist is doing just that as Noonans are selling his 34 Iron Age coins.

In readers finds, it is always good when a finder of a item that we have featured in our PAS finds review contacts us for more information and a valuation. Also sent in is a very rare penny of Offa in VF condition. We also have another mystery object for readers to identify; not sure if this one is old or modern but I’m sure a reader will know what it is. If you have any quirky finds, which you already know what it is or would like help to identify, please send them in.

In PAS finds a coin dated to AD900 from modern day Iraq turns up in Yorkshire.
