Handle

Location: Breckland, Norfolk

The handle is hollow and still had a woven fabric swatch inside. The figure appears to be in catholic clerical attire with a four cornered biretta hat and holding a looped beaded rosary. It is thought that the handle could have attached to different implements, possibly as part of the same set.

Iron Age – Roman toggle

A toggle dating from the late Iron Age to Roman (c 100 BC – AD 100) which was used to fasten one section of clothing to another.

Halfpenny of Edward the Elder

Obverse legend reads EADVVEARD Rxx . The reverse reads VVIII/+++/HARD indicating that the moneyer is Wulheard. Anglo-Saxon pennies are rare detecting finds and this is only the second example recorded by PAS.

Coin Weight

A coin weight for a Charles I Unite (20 shillings) as indicated by CARO REX on the obverse and XX on the reverse.
