A couple of pieces of auction news this week: a pair of gold coins linked to the Battle of Bosworth are sold and Noonans November sale includes a rare Harold II penny, which was only found in September.

“Flabbergasted” is the word that Rob Thompson used on finding two gold coins, stacked neatly on top of each other.

Noonans sell rare Harold II penny and other finds

A detectorist from Norfolk has been quick of the mark getting this rare penny of Harold II into Noonan’s November auction. It was only found on 9 September 2023.
