Shilling of William III
This is the first of two coins that came in from Steve Hurst to be identified and valued. It’s an early milled silver coin, which is 25mm in diameter so it is a shilling.
This is a coin of William III, which has the first bust on the obverse and is dated 1696 on the reverse. There is no mint letter under the bust of the king so it will have been struck at London during the Great Recoinage of 1695-97.  Â
Valuation
The coin would grade only Fair and is fairly common so my price range would be no higher than £15-20.
