Richard I penny
A detectorist I know only as Ricky sent in images of this coin and asked if I could identify it. It’s a decent looking voided short cross penny, which is in better condition than most examples I see.
On the reverse the legend reads +FVLKE ON LVND. Therefore, Fulke is the moneyer and London the mint. The obverse has characteristics that allow me to say it belongs to Richard I class 4b.
There is some wear to both sides but all the main details are clear enough for this Richard I penny to count as a decent collectors’ piece.
