Penny of Richard I
This is the first of a couple of two coins sent in by Rob Warwick. It was found very recently.
Rob’s find is a voided short cross penny of Richard I. It’s an example of class 3, which is quite scarce. On the reverse the legend reads STIVENE ON LVN so the moneyer is Stivene and the mint London.
Valuation
I’d grade the coin as good Fine and in its present condition my price range would be £90-120.
