Penny of Henry III
This hammered silver coin was unearthed very recently by Martin Depear. It’s a voided long cross penny of Henry III, examples of which turn up quite regularly as detecting finds.
Martin’s find belongs to class 5g and on the reverse the legend reads RENAVD ON LVND. Therefore, the moneyer is Renaud and the mint is London.
Valuation
This isn’t a scarce coin but the condition (about VF) is above average so to a collector it should be worth £45.
