12 new valuations and identifications including a Trajan denarius and an unusual Roman Brooch.

In Auction News, Baldwin’s auction on 14 April includes two five guinea pieces that are expected to make over £100,000.

In the PAS and Treasure review there is another example of a detectorist donating an item of treasure to his local museum and a detecting find that took two people to lift.

This week I saw this clue in a crossword:

Detectorist’s goal is bearing fruit, say, backed by angel (6,8)

Answer is Buried Treasure : “bearing fruit” is “berried” which sounds like “buried”; and “angel” is “treasure” (as in a term of endearment)
