Ancient British silver unit

This is the second coin to come in this week from Steven Simmons. It’s an Ancient British silver unit, on which an ID and a valuation were requested.

Hardly anything on the obverse shows up but on the reverse is a horse facing left. With so little detail to work from it is difficult to be certain about the exact identity of this coin. However, from the small amount of detail I can see I’d say this silver unit is most likely to be one of the varieties of the Cotswold Eagle type of the Dobunni (numbers 2015-21 in Ancient British Coins, number 377 in the Standard Catalogue).

Valuation

The obverse is in poor condition but the reverse would grade about Fine. In its present state of preservation I’d price it no higher than £20.
