William III sixpence
This coin was unearthed from the soil in Cumbria on 11 July by Steve Bartlett. I was asked to provide a valuation.
The coin is a William III sixpence, which is dated 1700 on the reverse. The date isn’t rare but is nothing like as common as sixpences dated 1696 and 1697.
Valuation
Unfortunately, the coin is not in good condition. The obverse is only Fair, the reverse about Fine and there is a cease mark across the obverse from5 o’clock to 10 o’clock. In its present state of preservation I would price it no higher than £10.
