Sixpence of Elizabeth I

Steve Hirst asked for a full ID and a valuation on this Elizabethan hammered silver coin, which measures 25 mm in diameter.

With a diameter of 25mm the coin must be a sixpence of Elizabeth I. It is dated 1574 above the shield on the reverse and the mint mark on both sides is an eglantine.

Valuation

The obverse of the coin would grade good Fine, the reverse about VF. In its present condition it should be worth around £150 to a collector, provided that it has not been cleaned.
