Penny of Elizabeth I
This coin is the first of two coins that were sent in by Anthony Hopkinson, who asked for a full ID.
It’s a Tower Mint penny of Elizabeth I. The mintmark isn’t clear on both sides but it is most likely to be a martlet. Therefore, this penny is a product of the second issue (1560-61) of Elizabeth I.
Valuation
The obverse would grade Fair, the reverse about Fine. It’s not a scarce coin so in its present condition I’d price it no higher than £15.
