Iron Age Fob

Location: Marbury, Cheshire east

An incomplete copper alloy ‘fob’ or ‘dangler’ dating from the late Iron Age to early Roman period (c 200BC-100AD). Triangular fob/danglers are very unusual. Theyir purpose is not fully understood; they may have been hung from items of equipment, personal apparel or harness decoration. This find has been designated a Find of Note: Regional Importance.
