London groat of Edward IV
David Richman is the finder of this hammered silver groat. I was asked to provide a full ID and a valuation.
This coin is a London groat of Edward IV. It was struck during the light coinage of the first reign of this king. It has quatrefoils by the king’s neck and mint mark crown on both sides.
Valuation
The coin hasn’t circulated for long and overall it would grade good Fine. However, the flan looks to be a bit uneven and on the obverse there are scratches on King Edward’s hair and cheek. In its present condition my highest price range would be £80 – £90.
