Irish penny of Edward I

This hammered silver coin is a recent find that came in from Colin Barton, who asked for a full ID and a valuation.

The coin is an Irish penny of Edward I. On the obverse the legend starts with .EDW.R. so it is an example of class Ib. On the reverse the legend reads CIVI TAS VATE RFOR so the mint is Waterford.  Irish pennies of this type and mint are listed in Coins of Scotland, Ireland and the Islands as number 6249.

Valuation

The obverse of Colin’s find would grade VF but the reverse isn’t as good. In England Irish pennies of Edward I turn up fairly regularly as detecting but this is a decent looking specimen so my price range would be £80-100.
