Irish halfpenny of Edward I

This is the second coin that came in this week from Martin Depear. The size was uncertain but when we inquired it turned out to be 16mm in diameter.

The coin is fairly obviously Irish and at 16mm in diameter it must be a halfpenny. It’s a coin of Edward I, with characteristics that point towards it being an example of class Ia.  It was struck at Dublin and is listed in Coins of Scotland, Ireland and he Islands as number 6250.

Valuation

The obverse would grade Fine, the reverse is better. In its present condition my price range would be £50-60.
