Halfpenny of Charles I
This hammered silver coin measures only 10mm in diameter and was found by Steve Bartlett, who asked for a valuation to pass on to a landowner.
The coin is a silver halfpenny of Charles I. It has a rose on both sides and beaded outer circles but nothing else whatsoever. In the Standard Catalogue it is listed as number 2851.   Â
Valuation
There are scratches on one side and both edges are a bit flat but overall it is better than average for the denomination. I have seen very few halfpennies of Charles I as detecting finds so this specimen should be worth £15-20 to a collector.
