Halfgroat of Edward III
Tony Hollis said this coin turned up in Cambridgeshire on 2 March. I was asked to provide a full ID and a valuation.
Tony’s find is a halfgroat of Edward III. It was struck at London during the fourth coinage, pre treaty period, series C. Annulets are used as punctuation marks on both sides.
Valuation
On the obverse there is slight ghosting, which is caused by the deeply cut long cross on the reverse. Both sides have been struck slightly off centre but the coin is otherwise in good Fine condition. My price range on the find would be £60 to £80.
