Elizabeth I, penny

This hammered silver coin of Elizabeth I was sent in by John Hill. On the obverse the legend reads E D G ROSA SINE SPINA and on the reverse it reads CIVI TAS LON DON. It is 14mm in diameter, is undated and has no rose on the obverse so it must be a penny.

On the reverse the mint mark is unclear but on the obverse it appears to be a martlet, which dates the coin to 1560-61.

Valuation

The reverse would grade good Fine, the obverse about VF but the edge is slightly chipped by ROSA. In its present condition a likely pre-sale auction estimate would be £50 – £80.
