Edward IV groat

Chris Martin is the finder of this coin. I was asked to identify it and let Chris have a valuation.

The coin is a groat of Edward IV, which was struck during tis king’s first reign. It is a London issue with quatrefoils by the king’s neck and mint mark crown on both sides. In the Standard Catalogue the type is listed as number 2000.

   

Valuation

The coin is well struck on a round flan and overall it would grade good Fine. It its present condition it would be worth ÂŁ80 – ÂŁ100 to a collector.
