Class 10 penny of Edward
The finder of this coin, John Lashmar, sent it in and asked for it to be identified and valued.
It’s a class 10 penny of Edward I but rather than being one of the usual London or Canterbury issues this coin was struck at Durham. During the reign of Edward I coins were made in Durham for the king and for the bishop. This penny has a cross moline at the start of the legend on the obverse, which indicates it was struck for the profit of Bishop Bec.  Â
Valuation
John’s find is in Fine condition, so I would price it at £20.
