Sixpence of Elizabeth I
Tony Hollis is the finder of this hammered silver coin. It’s a sixpence of Elizabeth I but it is only in Poor to Fair condition.
Unfortunately, neither the date nor the mint mark shows up so I can’t give even an approximate time of striking. Detectorists have dug up thousands of similar coins so they are worth very little in cash terms.
Valuation
Any hammered silver coin counts as a good detecting find but an Elizabeth I sixpence in Poor to Fair condition would be likely to sell for a figure under £10.
