Fontwell ring

A 12th century gold ring which was found in near Fontwell in West Sussex, in November 2019 and recorded at the PAS as SUR-D0CDD0. The inscription reads SI ESTRE ∙ I PVIS ∙ PARTIR ∙ NON ∙ AVIS ∙ VALETE which possibly translates to ‘if we are parted, this has no value’.
