London groat of Edward III

Tony Hollis asked if I could identify this hammered silver coin and provide him with a valuation. The accompanying illustrations told me that the coin is a London groat of Edward III.

On the obverse there is an annulet below the bust of the king. On the reverse there is an annulet positioned between the pellets in the CIVI quarter.  Therefore, the coin was struck during the fourth coinage, pre-treaty period, series Ga.

Valuation

The centre on both sides is in Fine or better condition but the outer legend is very weak and the surfaces are lightly pitted. In its present state of preservation I would price this groat at £35 to £45.
