Henry II Tealby coinage cut halfpenny
This coin came in from Glyn Peak, who thought it was a Henry II Tealby coinage cut halfpenny. It was unearth on the 2nd of December and Glyn asked what it might be worth.
The halfpenny is an example of the Tealby coinage but as is usually the case with this type it is badly struck. All I can see on the reverse is VN, which could be part of the mint signature or the moneyer’s name.  Â
Valuation
This find would grade Fine for the issue and cut Tealby coins are scarcer that the voided short and long cross specimens. However, in its present condition my highest price estimate would be £5.
