Halfgroat of Edward III
This is another hammered silver coin that came in this week from John Lashmar to be identified and valued.
The coin is a halfgroat of Edward III. It was struck at London during the fourth coinage, pre-treaty period and is an example of series E.
Valuation
The obverse is only Fair but the reverse is better. However, the flan is irregular and overall the eye appeal isn’t good. In its present state of preservation my price range would be £20-25.
